Colorful Autumn Leaves- Colorado

Captured during a long hike through the Colorado mountains as the landscape was beginning its change into fall. Bands of gold were spreading through the valley while green forest still covered much of the mountainsides. For a short part of the year, both seasons seem to exist together. This photograph preserves that transition, the enormous blue Colorado sky, distant mountain ridges and the first sweeping waves of autumn color.
